Summary:

Here's an idea to sort of counter the 250+ bpm comp album.

May I be so bold as to try & start a compilation before even releasing an album on dv??? Yes, I will try.

Seeing as how everyone joined in on the super fast compilation album, we should do something of the opposite & make an album of lullibies (spelling). Maybe some ambient slow jams, drums optional, binaural beats & astral projection radionic tones are suggested. I was thinking about doing an album of lulliby type stuff this morning so I figured I would suggest it for a compilation just to see how my first efforts for creating a DV comp will go.

Hopefully a lot of people will contribute to possibly make this a double disc release or whatever.

Ps remember, the key to this album is relaxation & sleep, so let's try to generate some yawns, dig?

i've submitted an ambient track for this comp, and i think everyone else should too.

(and i'm looking at you, distance and junkshop coyote - this seems to be completely your cup of tea…but everyone else who doesn't typically make any ambient stuff, here's all the more reason to start)

I like that track alot, it's exactly what I was thinking.
Lulliby ambient, I was gonna call the comp "May Cause Drowsiness"
with the pink sticker cover & everything.
So far it's strictly DV & I'm stoked about it, it's my first compilation attempt.
I'm probably gonna be the last track since it's mine, I guess I really gotta shine on this one, huh?

As some of the new stuff I'm working on is destined for an ambient album I've been planning for a while I'm sure there'll be at least one spare track I can divert onto this.

I'll do one- I'll need a few weeks though cos:
a) I haven't any ambient material
b) I haven't any of my gear where I'm staying atm.
Once I've sorted those things out, I'll put something towards this (always wanted to write an ambient track.)

This comp is def going down though.
I will get all the songs gathered some time very soon.
I have checked out everyones entry and they are all dope
as hell, so we are good to go when I get more submissions.

I don't want to come over as a prick (or something like that)
but I hate it when songs are already available to grab and listen even before the album is out (generally seen, nothing personal here). By this for me the 'magic' of a forthcoming album is partly gone which results in not downloading the album when it's out. I know some of you are now probably thinking "then just don't download the already available song". Well that's just the thing, I never do that but just knowing there are already available spoils the whole thing for me. Is this just me or….?

As virtually everything that gets released these days (on any label) turns up somewhere online beforehand you must be very disappointed all the time now :)

I quite like it, it usually makes me look forward to hearing the whole album - unless it's sh!t, that is.

I see your point, but I'm always afraid that if I don't download them when they become available, the release will end up not happening and I'll have missed out on some good tunes.

No, I agree with you, but I guess it depends how the compilation organiser wants to organise things… And you know, you don't have to download the tracks until the comp is ready do you :P

I'm waiting for the full album on this one, but some stuff i like to hear previews….

likewise sometimes i preshare my tracks and sometimes send them direct. no real pattern to my behaviour, just how i feel that day.

what it's like to see (and this is common for all comps) thou is a list of people that have contributed so far (and who is expected….)

I use that as a measure of how well it's progressing and make me focus and get working on my offering.

I would like to ask how is the project going ? I might want to contribute, but before I invest all my soul and positive vibe into an ambient landscape depicting good emotions in me, and before I get stoned, It'd be nice to make sure this idea was not a hoax. Sorry guys, I have had my internet shut off for the last month, so I figured it would just give you all more time to come up with submissions.

I still have to collect a few of the tracks and I will put them together in the next couple weeks. Sorry for the appearance of slacking off, I have just been offline until a few days ago, but I am back now. and will get everything together very soon, still some personal stuff to sort through.

THanks for your patience. I'm gonna say about another week or two before the compilation is summed up. I wanted to release it with the 200bpm album, but a little later will be alright.

Listen guys, I am sorry. This is my first attempt at compiling a compilation album and I must admit that so far I have done an ultrashitty job. I lost my internet for almost 2 months and couldn't afford to get it reconnected, etc. I got into my e-mail last night and downloaded as many of the submissions as I could, however, some of them expired because the website used only keeps em for like 7 days or whatever. I am not familiar with everyone on the label so far, so I really don't know who sent what and it's a real mess.

So please help me sort this out:

1. If you make and submit a track, please include a note with your name or what you would like to be called on the album along with the correct track name.

2. If you have already submitted a track, please send me a message with your name and the track name.

3. If you don't see your song name below, that means that I didn't get your e-mail in time to download it and I need you to re-up and send it to me again.

I had a couple of songs downloaded in a folder, but they got lost when my song hijacked my computer one night and scrambled my shit around. My wife of course cleaned the recycling ben before I noticed just like in the movies.

SO PLEASE GUYS, FORGIVE MY INSOLENCE AND BARE WITH ME!!! Like I said before this is my first attempt at a compilation album and I am back on top of it now so please resend your tracks, I don't care about length or bitrate or anything, so long as the song is slow and a causes drowsiness and the track name and your name are included so I know who did what. Personally I have only listened to a couple tracks in an attempt to make the album a surprise for me as well as you.

Oh, yeah, as far as a deadline goes, I am gonna call it quits when I think the album is finished. Playing it by ear so to speak. However, I will post a weeks notice in here for those who wish to throw a track my way at the last minute.

Hey dude, don't beat yourself up about it :) These things happen - I've recommended people here use rapidshare/megaupload/depositfiles etc for a while now because I've lost a few tracks myself due to seven day downloads timing out and computer crashes. And despite me asking everyone to provide track name and artist name etc, about 50% of submissions to Aaaaargh! were missing that info… BTW, I've got an idea for a track, I'll see if I can get it done this week. Also, liking cover 3 the best I reckon.

as iivix says "don't beat yourself up about it :) These things happen" any one that's compiled a comp (and solipsys has done a fair few) knows the hassle it can be.

my cover vote is: either 1 or 2 - personally I dislike 3.

1 looks truley peaceful.
2 looks drugged asleep (i.e. hospital post op)
3) the for head lines and the the way the mouth lies, makes me think, that it's a posed picture. not truley relaxed.

I think I am going to go with cover 1. I like 2 but I think one is more peaceful.
It won'y be too long till the album comes out, I just want to make sure it is at least a full length release.

Working on something for this at the moment, will hopefully have it finished in time. I agree with Mockstar regarding the cover, photo 1 is the nicest, but the red drowsiness label doesn't look the best, I reckon the yellow one would look better.

Yes, the gap's meant to be there. An adagio, written in September 2007, about a month before the peak of my depression. You might guess that from the audio. Two years on, and the title was deemed too personal for public consumption, and is therefore retired. Makes perfect funeral music, if you want people to kill themselves at the funeral. Enjoy.

solypsis your's is the only track I don't have so far I think, unless you resent the e-mail. Bitrate doesn't matter.

Also, I am extending the whole thing into a 3 disc release due on thanksgiving. I figured it would be appropriate enough, and it's already taken this long. I am doing Digital Vomit on Disc 1, which I will fix the cover as to ablige the general consensus for cover 1 label 3. Then disc 2 is going to be for the artists on another label I am affiliated with called These Arms Are Dicks, or TAAD. Disc 3 is for anyone not on a label or anyone who just wants to send in a lulliby or ambient track of anykind, even soft noise works.
