quick way to quantize/beatmatch audio?
subsonikasubsonika 1255015891|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

hello all
i'm currently attempting to beatmatch a drumloop with some very out of time vocals using ableton -
auto quantize didnt work so now i'm painstakingly moving individual 'warp markers' that match the rhythm of the vocals with the drumloop.
its taking fooooorever tho and sending me a bit mad. is there a quicker way i'm too dumb to think of?
(there are an awaful lot of vocals!)

thanks

(100 points if u guess which current dv remix project this is)

If my guess is correct, the vocals are at 72bpm, so just work on that basis. If I'm wrong though… I suspect the way you're doing it is the right way to go about it. I'd do a similar thing by timestretching parts over a metronome in Cubase, and I assume what you're doing in Ableton is just a quicker way of doing that.

yeah, doing it at 72bpm - and yeah basically timestretching the vocals to match my beats.
i'm getting there slowly but surely…

tnx
