do we still need to rule stating that swearing is verboten? i know that i for one swear like a retarded sailor, and noone has ever threatened to ban us.

anyways, i suggest we eliminate that disclaimer. assuming we don't start piling expletives and pictures of diseased genitalia in our posts, i think we'll be fine. as it stands, the "no swearing" rule makes us look like quakers or something.

I regard it more as a guideline than a rule. I think most folks here are pretty respectful and articulate anyhow, so it's kind of moot really. Unless, as James says, the forum degenerates into a cesspool of profanity, I don't think the disclaimer is necessary.

I think the fact that I've paid some money for them to host it for us means that we'd at least get a warning before they tried anything, whereas when we were using a free service then really they owed us nothing and could theoretically do what they like. So in other words, I reckon it's fine to swear if you want, but lets keep it clean in terms of porn or gore or anything like that that might raise flags with wikidot.
