Need your opinion about this.

Like I metioned in the first post this album will be only a 50 limited cd-r (so no online option). I did this mainly because there we're too much online releases on DV (in my opinion) while physical formats we're left out
My only concern is that because of the limited cd-r the music itself will only be available to a few people. Making more cd's is not possible seen the money thing. So the only way to see that it will be available to a larger crowd is making it also available as an online release.

So what is in your opinion the best option

1. Only a limited cd-r release
2. Limited cd-r release + after a certain time putting it also available as an online release

I think you should keep it a cd-r untill you've sold them all. After that you can always put it online to get some more exposure.

from my side : CD-r!! really cool diy format!!

you have no really obligation to make it as a limited version
ex: you can begin to burn 50ex, find few shop, underground distributor and see with us if they are interested to sell it
with no doubt if you send clear request & description you'll find few shop without problem, and after that when the first 50ex are place, you can re-edit it when you find new shop/distributor who'll be interet to sell it, etc…
(you can begin to contact them when you got the complete tracklist & preview, it's a good way to see approximativly how many you could press it, you have no obligation to contact us only after all the work is done)
btw you'll find more independant mailorder than real shop I think, mailorder are more interested by trade, so if you want complete your personnal discography its a good way to have independant & interestings cd/cd-r from all the globe & make contact :)) but you'll not have money from the cd-r that you exchange.
only you can know what is important for you…
what'll be the format??? jewelcase or stuff as that, or cd-r in a type of plastic. the second is really low cost and could give the possibility to do funny limited diy series

I've taken a limited version because I won't be working together with shops. I'm
going to 'produce' the cd-r's myself and everything will be distributed by me for free. So concreet i'll be having 50 copies at home, if someone is interested in having one they will have to mail me. Mailing equals receiving a copy. The only thing that will be asked is to pay shippingcosts.

The reason I don't work together with shops and don't ask money for it is because:

1. As an economist it's in my blood but musically seen money isn't the purpose. Just want to spread good music.
2. Sometimes conflicting for artists….you sell the cd-r, get money of it while the artist don't see nothing. Also legal side and so on…not a problem when not asking money for the cd-r.
3. It will be a cd-r but probably in a plastic sleeve with low budget artwork,… (something like the nonagonarian nasties album). Don't get me wrong, it will be a decent release but not the kind you ask money for.
