Hi,
is it possible to put the info back online about that voices/music project (was this iivix project? not sure actually) + links where to find them. I'm not promessing anything but I'm interested in providing some music for this project.

What I suggest is that everyone who was going to supply vocals, basically record your vocal bit, upload it somewhere (try http://megaupload.com at a push), and post a link to your vocal bit in this thread. Then people can download the vocals, do what they want with them, and we'll go from there…

Well personally I'd like to hear everyone's attempt at an acapella song, with your own lyrics and melody. That said, that's kinda ambitious I know.
So spoken word would also be good, or rapping, beatboxing, screaming, etc… Basically, make some noise with your mouth!

Hello.
So I've got an idea for a new collaborative project. It's called Voices for now, because that's what it's all about.
Basically, the process is: Person A records something using their voice. And person B takes that recording and uses it to make their own track.
Person A's voice recording could be a song (or part of a song), some beatboxing, some spoken word piece, James Brown grunts, whatever. The only condition is that it has to be voice only (no backing or instrumentation). And it should be recorded fairly dry, to allow the second person to add effects or process it however they want.
Person B might choose to just use the original vocal sample to form the whole tune somehow, or they might treat it more like a bit of production work, and write a "traditional" backing track to form a song.
OK, people involved are listed below… Voice providers, please provide a link to where we can all download samples, and I'll update the list below… Music producers, download the voices you want and get making music! (:

Well, it's ongoing (: I still think this has a lot of potential.
Er, basically, my personal input has been fucked by my computer dying (so no tunes from me till I fix it), but that shouldn't stop anyone else uploading vocals and/or writing tunes. Basically, anyone who's finished a tune, send it to me: hirekatsu [a] gmail [dot com]. Please include your artist name, track name, and who the vocals are from. I'll collect tracks until April 1st, or until I have enough, whichever comes first, and then I'll decide what to do with them from there.
Currently we have a lot of vocals uploaded (or at least they were, some will have disappeared from yousendit by now), but only Solypsis and Uncivilised have completed tracks to my knowledge. So get on it everyone, this can be a rocking project (:
