We're all passionate about making music, but in many ways Digital Vomit Records was born out of necessity. Back when we kicked things off in 2005, there was no Soundcloud, no Bandcamp, no Twitter - no easy way of organising releases, sharing music, or connecting to audiences (especially not for noisemaking freaks and oddballs like us). So we did the only thing that made sense and we gathered together to get shit done together.
And we did indeed get shit done - with almost ten years, hundreds of releases by hundreds of artists, and tens of thousands of downloads (not to mention CDs, vinyl, T-shirts, parties, and badges), Digital Vomit has exceeded the expectations of everyone who was here when in started. But as a loose collective at best, what with all the new music sharing and social networking tools we have at hand, we're all off doing our things, and while it's awesome that we can do that, it does mean that DV has become a lower priority for us all.
So rather than see the place simply atrophy through neglect, all good things must come to an end, and so we've decided that it's time to close the doors on Digital Vomit Records. But we're not going out without a party, so there's just time for one last compilation.
The theme is: anything goes.
It's open to everyone who's ever been involved in Digital Vomit.
And anyone who hasn't but would like to – if that's you, now is your last chance.
